Board Meeting

Date: Tuesday, November 2, 1999

Location: Mike Murphy's Home

Directors

Present: Howard Neu, Mo Christie, Gretchen Farmer, John Pickett, Jeff Stoller, Mike Murphy, Jay Stahl, and Don Elbert

The meeting was commenced at 7:35 P.M. Refreshments were provided by Mike and Barbara Murphy, as well as a luscious pumpkin pie from Barbara Neu.

The minutes from the October 26th General Meeting were approved.

The Board then proceeded to elect the officers for the forthcoming year, as follows:

Gretchen Farmer Recording Secretary Unanimously elected

Jay Stahl Corresponding Secretary Unanimously elected

Jeff Stoller Treasurer Elected by majority vote

Mo Christie Vice President Unanimously elected

Howard Neu President Unanimously elected

John Pickett Director at Large Code Enforcement Unanimously elected

Michael Murphy Director at Large Landscape Unanimously elected

The Board held a discussion as to how nominated individuals can decline prior to the absentee ballots being prepared and sent out. A motion was made by Mike that the nomination will be valid unless the candidate submits in writing, within 5 days, to the Corresponding Secretary that he/she does not wish to run. Upon vote taken, the motion was passed 6 to 1.

The upcoming picnic, scheduled for November 20th, was discussed. Mo was asked to put a reminder in the newsletter regarding the picnic. It was decided that chicken and ribs would be supplied by the Association, as well as hot dogs for the kids.

Don Elbert graciously agreed to stay involved with the Board to make sure the lights at the Stirling/Dykes entrance are installed. He also will assist Jeff in preparing the budget and making sure that there is an easy turnover of his duties.

A discussion was held regarding the Association recognizing, and thanking, Daniel and Barbara Pilger for the approximate 10 years they have decorated their house on Halloween. Their efforts have been enjoyed by many in the community over the years. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to award them a $50.00 gift certificate through American Express.

Jay Stahl advised that he had added to the Association's website links to various utilities; however, Sunrise did not have one.

Mo then discussed the next newsletter, asking for comments, suggestions on what to include, etc.

John advised that informal notices, in a friendly tone, would be going out shortly. The second notice would then be the official one, by certified mail, as many of the notices were for repeat offenses. John was also authorized that he could contact attorney Tighe directly to enforce code violations. Howard and Jay were the other directors authorized to have contact with the Association's attorney.

The next Board meeting would be November 23, 1999, to discuss the budget.

There being no further business, upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:05 p.m.

Respectfully submitted

Gretchen Farmer
